Cleaner
The blood may be wiped away, but the truth still remains.
Single father and former cop Tom Carver (Samuel L. Jackson) has an unusual vocation - he cleans up crime scenes. But when he's called in to sterilize a wealthy suburban residence after a brutal shooting, Carver is shocked to learn he may have unknowingly erased crucial evidence, entangling himself in a dirty criminal cover up.
Directed by Renny Harlin and co-starring Eva Mendes, Ed Harris, Keke Palmer, and Luis Gusman, Cleaner is a dark, gritty crime thriller that proves cleaning up is the dirtiest job there is.

I was a little hopeful when I started watching based on the story line, but it seemed like a bit of a second rate production. The story was a little too predictable. Jackson was good, but Mendez was not. Last thing I saw her in was We Own the Night and liked her in that so I was hopeful that she had turned it around, but this was another one of her disapointing performances. I don't understand how she keeps getting prime roles.Mr. Clean to the rescue! - PFHLTB
I enjoyed watching "The Cleaner," even though some of the plot points disappointed me. It starts falling apart towards the end, but not completely.
Overall, this is a well-acted movie filled with many clever and stylized transistion scenes throughout -- making the whole experience much more of a visual feast than I imagined it would be. Not bad at all.
Special Features:
Deleted Scenes: 6 of them, totalling about 15 minutes. A few of the scenes should have been kept in the original film, to make things a little more clear, but they were obviously cut for time reasons. GRADE: C+
Director Commentary:
Renny Harlin has a very friendly demeanor throughout his DVD commentaries and this one certainly follows that pattern. It's a bit dull in spots, but Harlin does include plenty of interesting tidbits along the way and even encourages us to send him an email if we have any questions for him. He seems like a very nice guy, which helps makes the commentary bearable even in the slow spots. GRADE: C+
