Made of Honor
It takes a real man to become a maid of honor.
For Tom (Patrick Dempsey), life is good: he's sexy, successful, has great luck with the ladies, and knows he can always rely on Hannah (Michelle Monaghan), his delightful best friend and the one constant in his life. It's the perfect setup until Hannah goes overseas to Scotland on a six-week business trip... and Tom is stunned to realize how empty his life is without her. He resolves that when she gets back, he'll ask Hannah to marry him -- but is floored when he learns that she has become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman and plans to move overseas. When Hannah asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role... but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before it's too late.

I had high hopes with the movie despite it sounding like a gender flipped version of "My Best Friend's Wedding". I enjoy Patrick Dempsey in Grey's Anatomy and hoped that he would have chosen a script that was just as smart and fun as Greys.
This movie is full of terrible gender stereoypes, predicitable humour centered around the these steretypes and a terrible plot.
Honestly the only thing that was remotely ammusing is seeing Patrick Dempsey and Kevin McKidd together but not as Dr. Sheppard and Dr. Hunt, their respective roles on Grey's.
I kept waiting for my fellow Zip reviewers' accolades to somehow appear but never did.
My advice: Skip it and save the 2 hrs of your life that you'll never get back!Surprisingly funny - thenewguy
Going into this movie, it starts out looking like a cookie-cutter romantic comedy. The swinging single man falls for his long-time friend and his feelings are about to be brought into the light when she announces she's engaged to a man she just met.
Though the concept is familiar, it's delivered in a very well-crafted way. The chemistry between the "maid" of honour and the bride-to-be is excellent. The supporting roles are well done and bring added humour to the film without getting in the way.
The film has some surprisingly funny moments and manages to keep the viewer interested while winding down the typical rom-com road.
Though the ending is as silly as it is predictable, the road this movie takes to get there is fresh and well-paced.Cute...but not much... - Cricri7
I have 3 good things to say about Made of honor....Patrick Dempsey, the fact that it was filmed in New York and...Patrick Dempsey again! He has a great quality on screen and you can't help but like him. Those actors do well in romantic comedies.
This mvoie doesn't move the earth and doesn't change anything in this world. It just entertains you for a bit, but not much more.
