The Lost Boys: The Tribe
Uncut Version
Never grow old. Never die. Never know fear again.
Risking everything in search of the ultimate rush is fun when you know you can't die. Angus Sutherland, taking up where brother Kiefer left off in the original cult favorite, is the lead vampire in this modern reimagining of The Lost Boys. The seaside village of Luna Bay is rife with outcasts and plagued by an outbreak of missing persons. AS the sun sets, the Tribe rises: a group of adrenalin-fueled, thrill-crazed vampires tears up the surf and the streets with nonstop action. But when a champion surfer (Tad Hilgenbrinck) and his sister (Autumn Reeser) move in, dark secrets erupt into hot-blooded passion and full-blooded fear. Helping fight the forces of hell: Corey Feldman in his signature role of vampire hunter Edgar Frog. Once you join the Tribe, there's no turning back.

Not as good as the first...but not bad - xsnrg
Ok...so I was a huge fan of the first one (I grew up with it) so I HAD to watch this one. I was happy to see Edgar Frog back in this one, although Corey Feldman's acting has seriously gone downhill. Anyone that liked the first one though, I would say watch this one as well just don't exect as much. And be sure to keep watching after the credit roll...there's a surprise that made the rental well worth it (although it confused me a little)A Wasted Opportunity - cathyottawa
This straight to DVD, B movie sequel tries hard to mimic the original, but it never captures the fun spirit of the first film.
It duplicates the Keifer/Patrick battle of wills, but the protagonist put in the the Jason Patrick role is dull. He's like Brandon Walsh from 90210 - squeaky clean, and a devoted brother. Yawn. And he's a pretty terrible actor to boot.
It mimics the Jamie Gertz role, but this girl has none of the tragedy of that character, and none of the difficulties - she's easily seduced. I did like the actress, Autumn Reeser of The OC fame.
What's really missing here is what the two Coreys brought to the original. Their characters made it more of a creepy kid's adventure film, while this tries to be more of a straight up horror. The kills are very gory; more 30 Days of Night than the Anne Rice vibe the original had. And it's rife with the trademark B movie sex scenes and nudity.
Basically, there was no creativity here, and clearly no budget. I did think Feldmen did a good job of reprising his role of Edgar Frog. He injects some of the tongue in cheek tone the original had, providing glimmers of what might have been.Fans wanted it, and here it is... - eoguy
Well you know all the fans are gonna do it, if nothing else for curiosity's sake. Here's the deal, you must expect that this wasn't going to hold a candle to the original. If they had wanted to do that, they would have hired really great writers and it would have been shown in theaters if they had actually wanted to do the original justice. As it stands, this isn't for diehard fans of the original, it's more for the Redbull/Monster drinking crowd.
Knowing full well that this was a straight to dvd effort should have tipped us all off. Sutherland's half brother isn't nearly as charismatic as the Kief! He has some but not nearly enough for me to think that he could suck up the souls of despondant teens, but okay, I'll buy it. There is also none of the dark allure and beauty of Jason Patric and the clashing of wills between him and Keifer. You don't really ever get to know any of the kids in this flick, nor are there any engaging adult characters, as in the first one.
This isn't really very edgy or clever but it does have a decent amount of action and gore to keep you watching and really, Feldman is here to keep us diehard fans of the original from tuning out. He delivers his lines with the utmost seriousness and some of his lines are chuckle-worthy but never laugh out loud. It really is The Lost Boys 2: ADD and it suffers a bit for it but I totally admit that the surfer/cycle stunts were mucho fun. Just keep your expectations in check please, and try to have some fun with it.
If nothing else, the music rocks and you really should watch it for Corey Feldman alone, he keeps the ball rolling so to speak. Also note, Corey Haim doesn't make his cameo until after the credits are rolling so if you want to see him, stick around for a while and there are also two different cameo endings in the extras which I actually thought were better than what was shown on the film.
