Swing Vote
One ordinary guy is giving the candidates a reason to run.
Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner), an apathetic, beer-slinging, lovable loser, is coasting through a life that has passed him by. The one bright spot is his precocious, over-achieving 12-year-old daughter Molly (Madeline Carroll). She takes care of both of them, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events that culminate in the election coming down to one vote... her dad's.

This movie was something. It seemed to touch so many different issues. It's commentary on the economy and what is happening in the Unites States right now was interesting. I thought Madeline Carroll did a wonderful job! She was cute, sassy and just plain adorable! I wouldn't see this movie again, but once was not bad. Enjoy!Funny Political satire - Scotfan05
I liked this movie. Kevin Costner is really good playing a lovable loser. The actress who played his daughter is fantastic. She had to show a huge range of emotions and for an eleven year old, did it really well.
The supporting cast is full of well known faces. I also liked the fact they used real political journalists to add some reality to the farce.
The moral of the story is that everyone should vote but you do need to be aware of the issues.
A funny but thought provoking film.Swing Vote - djfunkybob
This film has plenty of promise with its deep cast, original concept, and touching father/daughter story. However, the concept was too farfetched and Costner’s character was too far gone to earn our compassion. It appeared that there may have not been consensus on whether to make a movie about an American’s privilege to vote or about an underachieving father’s slipping relationship with his overachieving daughter. With all those big name actors, the real star was newcomer Carroll. She played the daughter with enough maturity and true emotion that she reminded me of Portman in some of her early roles.
