I enjoy sci-fi any chance I can get it, and this one's watchable. If you're a World of Warcraft or MMO player, this is basically an escort quest with a bit faster pace ;)
The story isn't all that interesting, but the author's vision of the future is (what society and the world look like through his imagination). He covers alot of ground with the back story that's often glossed over or spelled out in a 2 minute flashback in other films.
I read online that this is the PG cut of the film, and that there's an unrated version that pretty much just adds some salty language... and I like salt.Stereotypical Apocalyptic Future Flick - kav2001c
Utter drivel. Film features a stereotypical future where everything is a dark seedy wasteland and human life means nothing. Vin is to escort Yeoh & a mysterious girl to America, the girl being pursued by the church and gangsters. The arctic scenes (sub & snowmobiles) pretty much sum up just how cheezy this film is. Noone can act (I assume Yeoh had no script since she normally is far better, Vin is Vin nuff said).
The strange girl all throughout the film is the only one who cares about preserving life (its not even a spoiler since even the densest viewer should have an inkling why). Trash. Skip it.Should have been much better - daneilah
I don't think this film was worthy of Vin Diesel or Michelle Yeoh. They are both better than this movie.
The story was hard to follow, and the way the fight scenes were filmed made it hard to appreciate the action. The dialogue was weak.
I think the story itself was worthy of a film, but the transition to screenplay could have been much better.
If I could I would have given it 2 1/2 stars. Not worthy of a 3, but not bad enough to say I didn't like it.
