Despite some earler reviews I read, this is NOT as bad as they make it to be. This sequel is a campy over the top follow-up to the orignal Troopers. The first time I saw Troopers 1, I hated it. Thought it was stupid, over-the-top nonsense. Then, upon subsequent viewings I realized what it was they were tryng to do, and enjoyed it for what it was...a campy send-up of sci-fi action movies. If you don't take it seriously, it's actually pretty amusing and fun to watch. Troopers 3 is pretty much the same...and it's amusing. Considering the low budget, the FX are pretty decent. 3 out of 5 stars.Worst Sequel Ever? - kav2001c
Wow, what a disaster. This straight to video fare should be avoided as it has no redeeming qualities. Plot is obvious and paper thin, acting is awful, special effects look dated, the film just lacks in every area.
Apparently the bug brain that was captured in the previous films was all a setup just so it could bring the word of god to a psychic pop star sky marshal (?) who plans on selling out humanity. The former hero of the federation is set up in a court martial just so they can fake his death and enter him into the marauder program (??) and in general the bugs seem to have inherited a whole slew of new abilities not shown in any previous entry (which would have invalidated alot of the past mythos).
Utter trash.WOW! - Low_Profile
Just saw this thing (I would really hesitate to call it a movie!) and I have to agree wholeheartedly with Dakos (Etobicoke) that they should have stopped after the first one (I also saw that travesty called ST2) What were those people thinking?? It was terrible! One of the worst "films" I have ever seen.. I will have to add it to LandPhil's Worst of 2008 list! There was hardly any acting, some of the CGI was soooo obvious it was almost embarrassing. And what was with Jolene Blalock?? It looked as if she had OD'd on the collegen!! Yech!!! Grotesque to say the least. And then to have that idiotic religious b**ls**t line was the last straw! Paul Verhoeven must be so mortified to have his name even remotely associated with this piece of junk!
