August
Excess breeds success.
Hailed as "Wall Street for the Internet era" by Entertainment Weekly, August follow Tom Sterling (Josh Hartnett) as an aggressive, ultra cool, young dot-com entrepreneur, who is fighting to keep his company afloat in a crumbling marketplace. Tom must choose between fortune and family as he struggles to impress his apathetic investor Ogilvie (David Bowie), win back his girlfriend Sarrah (Naomie Harris) and deal with age-old wounds with his father David (Rip Torn) and his brother Joshua (Adam Scott).

WTF? - Damion
"August" is theoretically a movie about a guy who runs a dot com that starts off huge and then spirals into oblivion and how he tries to save his company....but...nothing happens.
At all.
Harnett, as Tom Sterling, doesn't do anything to actually try to grab hold of the reigns...his ex-girlfriend randomly walks back into his life for no reason, and he has issues with his father. Those issues are never mentioned...nor is the actual function of Sterling's dot com.
And then a random appearance by David Bowie.
I mean...WTF?

I can't believe this movie is from 2008. I mean, scalable e-solution? Come on. The script must literally have been from 2000. Josh Hartnett demonstrates why he's on the B-list and heading straight for the D-list. He is the lobotomized person's Ethan Hawke. Everyone in this is crap. No one involved will ever redeem themselves after this. This film is a vapid, poorly researched and mind-numbingly dull waste of everyone's time. I am dumber for having watched it.slow - Spiderman
I thought this movie would have a lot more to it then what it did. This was a very slow movie, one of those movies where you would have to really sit there and watch it.
If you don't understand much about the stock market then you will not want to watch this movie. For those people who are in the stock market this movie would probably be a good movie and would appreciate it a lot more.
Now for Josh Hartnett this was for sure not the movie for him to be in, with him in this movie i was expecting to much, he gave a good perfomance but the movie was just to slow for him. This was an investment that crashed.
