How to Lose Friends and Alienate People
He's across the pond and out of his depth.
Sidney Young (Simon Pegg) is a disillusioned intellectual who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. His alternative magazine, Post Modern Review, pokes fun at the media obsessed stars and bucks trends, and so when Young is offered a job at the diametrically opposed conservative New York based Sharps magazine its something of a shock!
It seems Sharps editor Clayton Harding is amused by Young's disruption of a post–BAFTA party with a pig posing as Babe. Thus begins Sidney's descent into success –– his gradual move from derided outsider to confidante of starlet Sophie Maes (Megan Fox) – and a love affair with colleague Alison Olsen (Kirsten Dunst), that will either make him or break him.

Nothing new here. The humour has been done before and this storyline has been done to death.
This film brings nothing new, no new perspective no new twist.
And it wasn't all that entertaining. Fairly predictable.
Nothing really wrong with the film and nothing really right with it.PEGG-Tastic! - penguinsrock09
I found this film to be absolutely hilarious. I think a lot of other reviewers are criticizing this movie too harshly because they are not allowing it to be what it is, a comedy! Simon Pegg yet again had a bloody hilarious performance. He played his character very well and kept me laughing the whole way through. This guy is quickly becoming one my favourite actors! It’s a light hearted comedy about the “joy” of being in the Hollywood spotlight. If you enjoy dry and witty humour then this film is right up your alley. If you’re looking for mindless, silly humour then this is not the movie for you. If you enjoy scripted comedy and great lines then I suggest watching this. The movie also stars Megan Fox who’s acting in the film was absolutely atrocious but she makes up for it other ways.only okay - thejanernator
Simon Pegg is one of my favorites and he really disappointed me in this one. He wasn't that bad, but the fact that he was in this lackluster movie is a bummer.
This really had potential but failed to deliver. Also, Megan Fox isn't anywhere near as gorgeous in this as she is in transformers.
I really think the script was the weak point, like I said, the premise isn't bad, it just didn't live up to its potential.
