RocknRolla
"I own this town." But owning is getting expensive for old-school London gangster Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson). A wealthier foreign mob is moving in with a riverfront property swindle. A small-timer (Gerard Butler) and his crew think they can play both sides and become big time. Now add a hard-as-ice accountant (Thandie Newton), a rocker playing dead to boost sales, wannabe music moguls (Jeremy Piven and Chris Bridges), a missing painting and a mad mosh of money and muscle, and youve got a real RocknRolla. From Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch) comes a fierce and funny caper, a smash-mouth cinematic smackdown of sex, thugs & rock 'n' roll.

Does this movie really merit a sequel. Normally before you're thinking about making a second picture you should worry about delivering a good story, solid acting and exciting action. A big FAIL on all three counts for Guy Ritchie here. I can't believe I actually watched the whole thing. Skip this one and rent Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.Good film - daveandginny
The dark setting and surprising turns in this movie are quite well done, and Guy Ritchie's method of delivering visual entertainment will surprise you if you haven't seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch. I was a bit surprised at how much I liked the film, despite having low expectations prior to seeing it. There is a touch of violence in this film, and strong undertones of drugs and shady dealings, so this film is definitely not for everyone. Jeremy Piven and Ludacris definitely add some spice to this film, and the cast as a whole comes together very well.
See this film if you're a Guy Ritchie fan, or want to see a movie with some violence and a twist of dark humour. Now THIS is more like it - Mookie
I loved Guy ritchie's Lock stock and Two Smoking Barrels for its dark humour, fast paced actions and interesting cast of characters. Snatch was good too but didn't appeal to me as much and then Guy Ritchie went MIa (as far as good films were concerned). Here he is back to his specialty and it is a welcome relief. Sure you can make the critique that it is similar in theme to Snatch and LS and 2SB but that's like saying a CSI episode always has them trying to catch a killer. You have you gangsta's from the hoods to the top men and their paths criss cross until the end. The plot is engaging, the script is fast and funny and with enough twists to keep you engaged until the end. Loved it! Hope he makes more and more and more like this.
