My expectations were low, and my intuition was spot on. No new material, no superb acting...
The F word 102, Balls 48, boobs 89 Thats how many times those words were used, I know these #'s because its what got me through watching it. Yes I counted, and no I'm not that person who get easily offended either... just bored.
Is it just me? But I invision Sean William Scott very much like his character in real life. I guess being infamous 'Stiffler' from American Pie you get typed casted or you become who you portray. Anyway the 1 good thing that came out of all this was Jane Lynch who always delivers laughs and grade A acting chops.Meh. Not enough funny for the length - jeremyc
Paul Rudd is actually pretty good in this, and Sean William Scott has his moments but both are better when they are being serious than when trying to be funny. The last big scene is pretty awesome, and there are highlights along the way but it is formulaic, particularly at the beginning. I watched the unrated version but I suspect that the Theatrical version is shorter and therefore better. Just give us the good stuff, we can fill in the blanks without drawing it out for 20 minutes longer than you need to. Jane Lynch is painful to watch for the most part.Caught me by surprise - sidevator
Role Models was way funnier than I expected and that's the reason for my 5 stars (wanted to give 4.5 but couldn't figure out how). 90% of modern comedies are underwhelming and over hyped. I expected Role Models to be stupid and rented it on the off chance it might give me a couple chuckles on a day I needed to shut my brain off. It's brainless in it's own way but the humour was askew enough to not be predictable. I'm a closet KISS fan so to see the role they play in the movie caught me off guard. But if you're not a KISS fan don't worry, you won't enjoy this movie any less.
