I absolutely love this movie. The storyline is entertaining, the music is catchy and telling. The story itself is deep and horrifying. The acting is amazing, especially on the part of Anthony Stewart Head as Nathan Wallace. Unbelievable, I adore this movie. I could watch it everyday and not get bored of it. It's that amazing.Rockin' Opera! - boatgirl
Contrary to other reviewers I loved this. Having said that to enjoy this you must:
1. Enjoy hard rocking soundtracks (it's a rock opera).
2. Enjoy a bit of gore (c'mon it's about a genetic repo man after all).
3. Have a bit of a sense of humour.
4. An enjoyment of graphic novels would help as that's what it's based on.
The sets are gorgeous. The casting was interesting and wonderfully complimentary. What a great way to spend a Friday night.Interesting but falls flat - Miker1
Common problem with musicals on film.... they just seem a little ridiculous with all the singing dialog. I like the premise and I think it is pretty well cast, but the music itself does not feel very inspired. It is almost as though the premise of "gory rock opera" was flushed out and then they realized that they needed some "rock music" to back it up, so they just threw some in. I would like to see this live, though, as I think that the connection you get with a live performance would bring me into the story even more. Oh yeah, and yay for Anthony Head!
