Gran Torino
Korean War vet and retired autoworker Walt Kowalski doesn't much like how his life or his neighborhood has turned out. He especially doesn't like the people next door, Hmong immigrants from Southeast Asia. But events force Walt to defend those neighbors against a local gang that feeds on violence and fear. For the first time since Million Dollar Baby, Clint Eastwood works on both sides of the camera, winning the National Board of Review Award as Best Actor for his bone-deep playing of Kowalski, burnished with experience, grace and gravitas into a "prime vintage Eastwood performance" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone).

So superbly Eastwood. From the one liners that will stun you - simply to the end that they were even put in the movie - I found the movie to be inspiring all the way to the song that plays in the end credits that Eastwood sings himself. Definitely a favorite among any guy I know, and most women as well. SEE IT!Wonderful Performance - harkas
A wonderful performance by Clint Eastwood both in front of the camera and behind it. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this movie. Very surprised that it did not win any major awards. Clint was very well-suited for the role and although some of his language does make you cringe, he eventually comes around. Although there isn't anybody well known in the supporting cast, they all do a good job. Amazing that he filmed this movie in only six weeks.A Powerful Movie Experience - Mookie
I have to say I loved this film. For the message, for the acting, and for the fact it manages to hit all the right beats without going over the top. I also believe that nobody but Clint could have been able to pull off this unlikable character and made us care for him so much.
There are a lot of messages this film delivers but the main one is that family means so much more than who you are related to.
I love all of the character arcs, and while I think one failing is that we don't get to know Thao as much as we could, all the characters are more than two dimensional (with the exception of Clint's kids).
What lets me know what a wonderful film this was is that I am still thinking about it and talking about it days later.
