It! / The Shuttered Room (Double Feature)
From Gothic To Golem - A Terror Twofer!
In It!, a London museum's eerie Golem statue is awake and ready to do its master's bidding. Roddy McDowall (Planet of the Apes) portrays a museum assistant - and a mama's boy living with dear ol' mum's corpse! - who wills the monster to destroy his rivals. Can the military's nuclear might stop this madman and his power binge? See It! in full, terrifying action. Don't go there, Dunwich Islanders say. Above all, don't enter The Shuttered Room. Gig Yougn and Carol Lynley, eager to explore the long-vacant New England millhouse they inherited, disregard the warnings of the creepy locals. And that plunges them into the mystery and madness of a shocker based on a story co-written by H.P. Lovecraft and August Derleth.

It's Half Worth It - Craigo
Thankfully, in this "terror twofor" there's at least one film worth a look. IT, the story of an indistructable golem, has a lot of great 60's far-out camp and oddball touches. It runs thin by the end, but certainly has an absurd kind of charm. THE SHUTTERED ROOM, however, is so full of "inovative" 60's camera work and abstract shots that the veiwer ends up nausous and stuck with a headache. The two stars seem stiff and out of place in a story that should have been slated for a NIGHT GALLERY episode, rather than feature length. Other than the appearence of Beryl Robinson as the strange aunt, there's nothing entertaining or frightful here.
