New in Town
Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger stars as Lucy Hill, a high-powered executive in love with her upscale Miami lifestyle. Seeking to snag a big promotion, Lucy agrees to move to a remote Minnesota town to oversee the restructuring of a blue collar manufacturing plant. After enduring icy roads, freezing weather and a chilly reception from the locals, she soon warms up to the small town and its people - especially the town's handsome union representative (Harry Connick, Jr.). What begins as a job assignment becomes the best thing ever to happen to her in this heartwarming comedy that proves that the warmest people are often in the coldest places.

This is a cookie-cutter movie about saving the small town. Being from central Alaska, I loved the fact it was filmed in a freezing environment. For me, this lent realism and humor to the plot. Otherwise the movie wouldn't have been near as funny. Don't expect more than entertainment from this movie.New in Town - Maddie
I thought the movie was sweet. You really did know what was going to happen as far as the romance end goes, but the ending was so nice and really realistic of someone with such drive and caring. I would recommend this to everyone and it can be watched by all family members which is a really nice difference. They just don't make these like this anymore. EnjoyPredictable but harmless - Jonesy1
This is pretty predictable rom-com fare, except that it takes place in Minnesota, which always leads to some good laughs about finding Jesus, secret recipes and ice fishing. There are some rather tender Christmas scenes that warm the heart, but the final 25 minutes seem rather formulaic, but the ending also feels rushed. Zellwegger looks fantastic and is at her usual comedic best, while Connick, Jr. is rugged and handsome, yet again. Good comic turns by the supporting characters make this movie watchable, but only just.
