Hitch-like - cathastrophe
This movie reminded me in many ways of Hitch, except that by intertwining so many storylines, it felt like it dragged on longer than it should have. The Apple guy was just a few notches less charming than Will Smith naturally is, but sadly his girl was incredibly boring. i almost feel like guys made this rom-com forgetting to consult a woman... Perhaps it would be better to give heroine with more intelligence and insight than the one depicted? We women might want a bit of romance (and sometimes in the wrong places), but it does not necessariy mean we are silly and desperate for it like this gal, right? I could ot enjoy this movie just because I was trying so hard not to roll my eyes at the antics of the poor girl...could not relate to her, sadly, compared to other rom-com heroines.not romantic, not a comedy - gingericecream
This film weaves the stories of 5 women and their search for fulfillment through a relationship, the trailer looked promising but the final product fell flat. The sterotypic overkill destroys what could have been a funny film. The women are all so desperate to be attached to one man that they don't make choices - anyone who likes them will do. The men just want sex and the gays are flaming. The only truely funny scene was with Hector the contractor who is responding to a meltdown by one of the women.

I found myself quite ‘into’ this funny and emotional chick flick with a strong ensemble cast playing characters with interesting, intertwining stories. What makes this movie work is our ability to relate to some of the characters and their hopeful or hopeless relationships. No relationship is left unevaluated for the 20 & 30-something crowd: We have the serial first-dater looking for meaning in her date’s every word, the friends with benefits, the common-law guy who “doesn’t believe in marriage”, and the married couple stuck in a rut challenged to remain faithful. I especially enjoyed the clever insights from both sides of Aniston & Affleck’s common-law couple. At first Goodwin’s serial first-dater is a bit annoying, but winds up coming across endearing and realistic by the film’s end. Also, I have a hunch that you should look for big things in the future from both Goodwin and Cooper.
