Sunshine Cleaning
Academy Award Nominee Amy Adams, Golden Globe Winner Emily Blunt, and Academy Award Winner Alan Arkin find an unexpected way to turn their lives around in this "colorful, refreshingly quirky comic drama" (Leah Rozen, People).
Desperate to get her son into a better school, single mom Rose (Amy Adams) persuades her slacker sister Norah (Emily Blunt) to join her in the crime scene cleanup business to make some quick cash. With the help of their ill-fated salesman father (Alan Arkin), they climb the ranks in a very dirty job, finding themselves up to their elbows in murders, suicides, and... specialized situations. But underneath the dust and grime they also come to discover a true respect for one another, and create a brighter future for the entire Lorkowski family.

A movie about coping with life's many struggles and how family and good friends can help with that. Alan Arkin plays the single father of the two girls, and does an excellent job of it.
The humour is dark, but honest, funny and appreciable. The story is an excellent balance of fun and sadness. Great acting by all of the main characters, the movie really draws the viewers in and I found myself fond of the characters as well as the movie.Sunshine Cleaning - djfunkybob
This is the engrossing and appealing story of Rose (played by Adams) - a woman finally able to take pride in something of her own and the story of her ability to rise from a life of struggle. This is a perfect example of how enjoyable a film can be when intriguing characters are accompanied with a good screenplay. Each character struggles to cope with the key moment from their past and is trying hard in their own way to turn things around. Adams and Arkin were solid as expected, but Blunt shone as Rose’s younger sister who has never recovered from a tragic family event when she was young girl. The story is a drama with the perfect balance of emotion, drollness and whimsy. What an interesting industry - ProfThea
Really this was a movie about sisters and other family relationships. However, what drew me to the film was the industry: crime scene clean-up. This was pretty much a feel-good movie with a happy ending, but sometimes that's just the type of entertainment I'm looking for.
