Wuthering Heights
Masterpiece - As Seen on Public Television
The fiery romance of Heathcliff and Cathy reignites in this thrilling new adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic love story.
Set against the stark beauty of the English moor, the mysterious gypsy boy Heathcliff, adopted by the Earnshaw family, discovers his soul mate in his stepsister Cathy. But as a man unable to have the love of his life, he seeks vengeance against anyone who comes between them.
In one of the greatest romances of all time, this adaptation stars Tom Hardy (The Virgin Queen, Oliver Twist) as Heathcliff, and newcomer Charlotte Riley as the heroine Cathy.

Having seen previous versions before and having found them lacking, when compared to the novel, I ordered this flick only because it had received so much notoriety and was a British creation. I hoped that this tale of the worst in people would come to life on screen and it doesn't disappoint. An adopted son, treated about as cruely as one can be rswears venegence at any cost. And any cost is what the price turns out to be. He changes the lives of all those he touches and usually not for the better. Not giving away the ending except to say, not for children. Top notch work all around.Masterpiece - bbryon1
As usual, a Masterpiece. Absolutely my favorite movie of all time. Did a fabulous job on the actors and, although it strayed from the original writings of Emily Bronte, I believe her characters and overall story idea were portrayed brilliantly. This is the second time I have watched it through, and will not be the last. Wonderful acting in a beautifully told story.Excellent Adaptation - Deputygoat
It's not the novel, but it's true to the novel. Be prepared for some alterations to plot and sequence, but be prepared also for the most swoon-worthy Heathcliff!
This is the best Wuthering Heights adaptation I have seen. I cared about the characters, all of them, and about the moor and its society.
Highly recommended.
