Fighting
Includes Both the Unrated (108 mins) and Theatrical (105 mins) Versions of the Film.
Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Public Enemies) knows firsthand that every day in New York City is a struggle to survive. So when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard, Iron Man, Hustle and Flow) gives him a chance to be something more in the brutal underground world of bare-knuckle street-fighting, Shawn decides that he has something worth fighting for and puts everything on the line to win. Every knockout brings him closer to the life he's always wanted, but also traps him in a dangerous web he can't escape.

Overall "Fighting" has too many things wrong for me to recommend it. First of all, I am never sure if the character played by Terrence Howard is unbalanced in some ways because one minute he seems like he is about to give an evil laugh, the next he seems like a 5 year old could beat him up given how timid he acts. I am never sure if I should hate him or pity him in the movie. Second the fight scenes go way too quickly including the all important last fight which got a huge build up but lasted less than 7 minutes. Finally, The charcters of the love interest's child and mother are never fully given a chance to influence the story and not be stereotypes. The daughter is just there and the mother just yells at everyone in sight.Pretty Good - skylar22
I liked this movie. Chatum's character was good, real and nothing over the top. I love loved Terrance Howard in this movie, the way he spoke and acted was great.
This may be boring to some because the fight scenes and storyline were real and not super fake or dramatic. I liked that.
The ending was great too!OK - Dakos
It's not Oscar worthy but it is a decent fighting film if you like that kind of violence. For me, Channing Tatum has become the new Sylvester Stallone, playing a guy who can't even complete one sentence during this whole movie. Not sure if that was scripted into it but it did not make him look good. I can just imagine what he' like in the new G.I. Joe movie.
