A Welcome Departure form the Usual - bluegrass
A bit artsy for my taste, with lens effects, home-made music, and meaningful metaphor.
On the plus side, it's a rare and interesting look into the lives of families who are grieving for a murdered loved one, including a bleak tour of daily court proceedings. Kutcher shows maturity playing a taciturn jock. He and Pfeiffer have sexy chemistry. Good performances all around, and the various story facets knit together well.
It slows in the middle, but I really enjoyed the lack of glamour in these lives, and the unusual topic.Nice Change From Traditional - WTF4REAL
A depiction of two families dealing with similar tragedies. An intertwined relationship develops only to send you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Not a lot of Hollywood magic in this movie and the characters where your everyday middle class types. A few twists and turns will keep you thinking. It was overall a good movie to watch.there was just something missing - Ensano
This movie is about two families learning to cope with the murder of a close loved one.
Michele Pfeifer plays a mature woman who lost her husband and Ashton lost his sister and has now moved back with his mother and neice.
The story was good and the acting seemed a little flat but it was still good. I liked the movie but there was just something missing. I found I had a hard time getting drawn in.
Overall it's still worth seeing.
