Marie and Bruce
Somewhere Between Love and Hate... There's Marriage.
Four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore (Children of Men) and two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick (The Producers) star in this serio-comic trip through a day in the lives of a dysfunctional married couple. Adapted by Wallace Shawn (My Dinner With Andre) from his own play, Marie and Bruce begins with the couple's venomous breakfast conversation and ends with an intimate dinner where Marie finally reveals her secret desires to her husband. Brilliantly sarcastic, often funny, yet deeply moving, Marie and Bruce is an acting tour de force that finely captures Shawn's legendary "perverse wit" (Kurt Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter).

Oh my god!!!! - KarineXL
I really like these 2 actors a lot. And I also usually love to see this kind of play between 2 caractors having problems and trying to talk and talk about it. But in this case, oh my god!!! I couldn't finish the movie, it was so weird and boring. Maybe there is something I didn't get in the story or in the acting, but this is definatly not what I am searching in a movie. I am sorry but I do not recommend that movie.ACID ON SCREEN... - Ricardo
without any side effects or danger, except falling asleep after repeating to yourself "why did I rent this? why did I rent this?" Performance-wise, it's obvious that the two leads did their usual brilliant jobs portraying the characters. The plot is a completely different story. It's like watching 2 patients in an insane asylum under the effect of great quantities of potent hallucinogens.
Glad for those who liked it. For me, it's amongst the top ten worst movies I've ever seenSimply Superb - CharleyJames
Matthew Broderick and Julianne Moore are simply superb in this screen adaptation of Wallace Shawn's Broadway smash hit character play.
Marie and Bruce are a typically dysfunctional and marginally unhappy couple seen living an entire life compressed into a single day. The film is incredibly funny, hurtfully sarcastic, deeply touching and ultimately moving.
Broderick demonstrates why he's won a pair of Tony awards and Moore shows why she may be the most under-appreciated actress in Hollywood.
