Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
You can't always run from your past.
Celebrity photographer Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey) loves freedom, fun and women... in that order. A committed bachelor who thinks nothing of breaking up with multiple women on a conference call, Connor's mockery of romance proves a real buzz-kill for his kid brother, Paul, and a houseful of well wishers on the eve of Paul's wedding.
Just when it looks like Connor may single-handedly ruin the wedding, he is visited by the ghosts of his former jilted girlfriends, who take him on a revealing and hilarious odyssey through his failed relationships—past, present and future. Together they attempt to find out what turned Connor into such an insensitive jerk and whether there is still hope for him to find true love... or if he really is the lost cause everyone thinks he is.

The best part of the movie was the end credits.
Sure i've seen worse, but if your gonna knock off a classic (Charles Dickens 'Christmas Carole')and adapt it to modern times cautionary tale show some respect to Dickens. What went wrong was a handful of miscarried storylines, and predictable play by play's. I couldn't help but wish Mathew McCoughnay's character would learn his lessons sooner and the movie would just end. Seriously, this movie would have Dickens waking up in his grave as the Ghost of the Past and smacking Mathew over the head!Standard movie on lost love & personal choices - Spacey
I found this movie to be a pretty standard 'lost love' movie, but described under the premise of 'A Christmas Carol'. I find this movie difficult to describe so I'll frame it as how I felt as I watched it and build on that.
As I watched the movie, I couldn't help but think to myself in parts, "it would have been better if this happened", "they should have done this". The overall feeling I had at the end then was that parts of the movie worked, but other parts really didn't seem to fit in or were very idiotic. Many of the characters were little more than cliches: the bridesmaids who are only interested in hooking up, the groomsmen into their technology and clueless about women, and the player uncle who take his nephew under his wing and shapes his life. I do think the movie would have been better if these character were developed/shown as more than tired, old cliches.
I didn't really feel very much chemistry between McConaughey and Garner, but I like that what drew these characters to each other was outlined in the movie. Garner did well in her role, and McConaughey seemed to be at home type-casted as a womanizer.
I enjoyed how this movie ended. I think it would be too far of a stretch to show that McConaughey and Garner are living happily ever after. As these types of moves go I enjoyed 'The Family Man', 'Scrooged', etc. much more, however, this was a good movie to keep you marginally entertained.Great Flix - lambert000
Definitely a chick flick, but one that I highly recommend! I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be. It was well acted and very entertaining. I really enjoyed the plot and well the ending was perfect. I may have shed a tiny tear. For all the ladies out there… add this one to your zip list. It’s worth it.
