In spite of Gabriel's initial reluctance. Ripley manages to rope him into an impossible job: the theft of two priceless Faberge Imperial Eggs from the heavily guarded vault of a New York diamond wholesaler. The stakes rise for Gabriel and Ripley when Ripley's goddaughter (Mitchell) is kidnapped by the KGB. An unfortunate cinematic failure - SoloSymphony
With it's top-tier cast you would have expected a lot more from this, but it's simply riddled with disappointments in plot, cinematic effects, and acting. The truly unbelievable finale heist was loaded with ridiculously uncool b-movie style solutions (fingerprints transferred to a stretchy pair of gloves?), that just seemed too easy to pull off.
It's unfortunate to see such esteemed and well respected actors such as Morgan Freeman being put through such torturous bad film-making.Very bad.... - Cricri7
I zipped this movie because of Morgan Freeman. He is an excellent actore, Driving Miss Daisy is one of my favorite films, but this one here is very bad. He is playing a jewel thief along Antonio Banderas...I can't tell you much more because I stopped watching it after 20some minutes. I do not recommend this one at all!A heist movie but don't expect much - PeterParker
My general impression was that somebody said "hey, lets make one of those crazy scheme heist movies" and managed to talk a couple of names into staring. The acting felt like they were taking turns reading lines. The romantic angle is mostly unbelievable.
I did like the way they wrapped it up so not all is lost. Not my favorite heist movie, but not all bad.
