Not worth Watching - kbedry
I thought the acting sucked. The story line was boring. I have seen better. The sound was crappy. I would not recommend watching. I fell asleep during this movie cause it was so boring. If i were to watch it again i would have a blanket handy incase of falling asleep again.Surprisingly good - mxg123
The movie starts kind of slow, and in a somewhat boring way, but things do change paste and do get much better. This is simply a short story about a great 1900’s master by the name of Salvador Dali, and his surrounding friends at a somewhat young age. At first I was not certain of the direction of this film, but half way thru it did improve a lot, and it did make me change my mind. It certainly did teach me something about this great master. At the end this was a gentle film with several emotions about the life and times during the 1920’s. Good, simple, entertainment.Surrealist Brokeback Mountain - MikeB
I was looking forward to this movie because of the Salvador Dali aspect of it. It examines his early life with Frederico Lorca and Luis Bunuel. This is a pretty wierd triumvirate and the movie does portray this well. So be prepared - there are some bizarre scenes.
What this movie does lack is any chemistry between the three central characters and their women friends. The actor playing Dali is rather distant and lacks any charisma and energy.. For the most part Dali comes off as a buffoon. There are also far too many wordy conversations on revolution, the bourgeoisie. art…
The only compassion is at the end of the movie when Lorca is executed.
I recommend this film only if you are interested in the life of Dali, otherwise pass it by.
A movie describing the life of Dali and Lorca should be so much better than this one.
