From the revolutionary minds of Pixar Animation Studios and the acclaimed director of Monsters, Inc. comes a hilariously uplifting adventure where the sky is no longer the limit.
Carl Fredricksen, a retired balloon salesman, is part rascal, part dreamer who is ready for his last chance at high-flying excitement. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, Carl sets off to the lost world of his childhood dreams. Unbeknownst to Carl, Russell, an overeager 8-year-odl Wilderness Explorer who has never ventured beyond his backyard, is in the wrong place at the wrong time - Carl's front porch! The world's most unlikely duo reach new heights and meet fantastic friends like Dug, a dog with a special collar that allows him to speak, and Kevin, the rare 13-foot tall flightless bird. Stuck together in the wilds of the jungle, Carl realizes that sometimes life's biggest adventures aren't the ones you set out looking for.

Pixar did a wonderful job at this movie, however I found for my four year old the subject matter of his wife dying was a little hard to take. True, most cartoons deal with death and sadness but there is a ton of happiness to make up for it. This movie really was sad every turn and bend, it even brought tears to my eyes.
Basically a movie about a grumpy old man who is trying to live out a promise he made to his wife while she was still alive.
Some funny parts, but make sure you bring a box of tissue.Do you need any assitance? - hilkayaker
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! I watched it twice in two days I enjoyed it so much. It had me laughing at the begining (which is a little dark for a kids movie) at Ellie the adventurer, she was so cute! I loved Russell, he was such a funny character and Dug and all his dog friends made the movie for me. Ball, squirrel, treat, all halarious words that dogs know and really made me laugh at the effect on the dogs in the movie. The end with all the dogs with their heads out the window was priceless! Nice happy ending to a gloomy start out and a really fun finale. Definately worth watching with any age group! An absolute gem - feliper
Pixar does an impressive job telling a story about following a dream and what can happen along the way. As usual, the animation is first rate and while you can guess how it's going to end, you can't guess how they're going to get there. The gruff old man (bearing an uncanny likeness to the late Spencer Tracy) and an overly-eager young wilderness scout who's never been out of the city become odd travelling companions. Christopher Plummer voices the baddy, quite delightfully too. And the dogs are not to be missed, more uproarious than the seagulls in Finding Nemo. Enjoy.
