3 Mo' Divas
A Musical Celebration of Class, Sass, and Style!
Three magnificent voices. Ten musical styles. Two hundred years of music. Take your front-row seat at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for genre-defying feats of vocal skill by three of today’s most versatile and powerful singers. Sopranos Nova Y. Payton and Jamet Pittman and mezzo-soprano Laurice Lanier are all classically trained, but there’s nothing they can’t sing, from soaring opera to show tunes, jubilant gospel, jazz, blues, and more. Conceived by Marion J. Caffey, creator of the smash hit Three Mo’ Tenors, this is the show that has thrilled audiences all across North America. Complete with rehearsal clips and interviews, it’s nonstop family entertainment. As seen on public television.

We like music and zipped this not expecting anything. It had a nice mix of classic to blues to gospel to… All together it was a nice way to spend an evening with a glass of wine and cheese. We did find that switch between genres a little unexpected at times as it didn’t seem to flow smoothly with one song leading into the next.3 Mo ' Diva - JonandJoelle
Unfortunately both my husband and I disliked this. We were looking forward to watching it, as my husband has a great appreciation for classical music and voices, due to the fact his mother was a successful and exremely talented performer herself. he was given the gift of a true appreciation of a talented voice and what it is capable of. Education is not all it takes, its the raw talent one possesses that makes one "truly" an artist.
We were left feeling that all three women belonged in another genre of music, as their voices are simply not discipled enough to sing what they attempted.
Classical performances should leave one feeling touched, whereas this simply had us looking at the clock. It was a true disapointment.
