Funny People
Includes Both the Unrated (153 mins) and Theatrical (146 mins) Versions!
Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann star in this seriously funny film from writer-director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up).
When famous comedian George Simmons (Sandler) is given a second chance at a new beginning, he and his assistant, a struggling comedian, Ira (Rogen), return to the places and people that matter most - including the stand-up spots that gave him his start and the girl that got away (Mann).
Co-starring Jonah Hill, Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman, it's the film critics cheer is "uproariously funny!" (Sonny Bunch, The Washington Times)

I had heard various reviews from people and friends about this movie and in the end I was glad I took the risk of seeing this movie. It's probably not quite like what the commercials portray and I think that's the crux of some of the so so reviews. It's not a comedy so much as a drama with funny parts swaying more to being a serious drama. All the actors in the movie played their parts brilliantly and I thought the writing was original with a satisfying ending that is not a cliche.Defintely not what was expected - Syganzychick
From the blurb above, honestly I expected a yet another winner from Judd Apatow. Given that I consider myself a fan of his and Rogen's, it pains me to have to say that this movie sucks. I was expecting a rather light hearted, amusing focus on stand up comedy and a veteran helping a newbie. Instead, I got maybe half an hour of that...and an additional 2 of a predictable morality tale about how Sandler's character didn't actually learn anything while he chases the "one that got away". This film had it's funny moments, but I'm not sure it can even be in the "comedy" category. Adam Sandler made an impressive effort in a serious role. Ultimately however, the too long, cliched script killed it for me. It's too bad that they took it in the direction it did, when it had the potential to truly beas funny as they marketed it.Funny People - Jude
Not as good as I had hoped. Actually a bit of a disappointment. The high point of the movie was Seth Rogen, who played a likeable character, and played it well. The rest of the movie was pretty ho-hum. The plot never got my interest, and I really did not care how it ended. There were some funny moments, and some very black moments, and some very crude humour. Not for everyone.
