The Doctor is out.
Despite his staggering success, L.A.'s top celebrity psychiatrist and self-help author (Kevin Spacey) has reached the end of his rope. Disillusioned with both his career and personal life, his only hope of salvation will have to come from his motley crew of neurotic Hollywood patients.

and different, but that doesn't necessarily mean the movie is excellent. I thought it was good, Spacey does an amazing job (as we all have come to expect from him), and the plot flows with only a few stumbles. I personally did not like the end. I thought it was too Disney-like compared to the rest of the movie. Overall, worth watching but it's not the kind of film you will remember as a classicEntertaining, quirky film - Steady
Another movie about paranoid Hollywood types. But with a difference. This one is good. Why this didn’t get wider theatrical release is unbelievable. Spacey gives one of his best performances as a spaced out psychiatrist. But with good reason as we find out as the movie goes on.
The whole cast is superb in handling quirky roles. It is hard to think of a regular character in the entire character list. Several familiar faces from TV series. Thoroughly enjoyed it.Shrink... has passed out, again - Freespace
I always enjoy watching a Kevin Spacey flick as he typically plays some sort of brilliant but sarcastic character who considers himself far above the crowd.
Unfortunately, in this movie, he plays a perpetually drugged out psychiatrist in L.A. who spends all of his time sprawled out on chairs in his million dollar home. Spacey plays it too perfectly and you wish that you could see at least some glimpses of that brilliance shine through in the character, even if only through flashbacks.
The cast of characters that surround him and who all put in great performances are just as bizarre, all of them struggling insanely with their troubles. In the end, their lives all intersect in a neat but quite melodramatic ending. A thoroughly enjoyable movie but that could have been better if Spacey’s character had been flushed out more.
