Julie & Julia
Based on Two True Stories
A culinary legend provides a frustrated office worker with a new recipe for life in Julie & Julia, the true stories of how Julia Child's (Meryl Streep) life and cookbook inspired fledgling writer Julie Powell (Amy Adams) to whip up 524 recipes in 365 days and introduce a new generation to the magic of French cooking. Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada) co-stars in director Nora Ephron's delicious comedy about joy, obsession and butter. Bon appetit!

Again...here is one movie I wanted to like, but I could not get through it. :( Maybe I have seen too many Meryl Streep movies that I could not get past "Meryl Streep" to Julia Child, I don't know? But all in all the pace and tone of the movie just did not suit me... I felt it was trying a bit too hard to win my affection without really engaging me. Sorry. Maybe I will try again next time.l.Not Bad - Nikki
Interesting comedy-drama based on two true stories. I thought that splitting the story into two separate but related story-lines was a great idea. The acting in the film is terrific which is where the strength of this film lies. Meryl Streep gives a wonderful performance, she does not disappoint.Butter, butter, and more butter makes for a delicious movie! - michaelpackard
I loved this film. It was laugh out loud funny (particular when Meryl Streep's character compares a hot noodle to a certain area of the male anatomy!) Amy Adams and Meryl Streep both do a fantastic job of maintaining two stories with parallels, exhilarating ups, and disappointing downs. Don't watch this movie hungry, however - you'll be craving something made with lots of butter by the end!
