Good and bad at the same time. - Debra
The story, characters, and action scenes were great in the movie. My only complaint is that there was so much filler! I did alot of fast-forwarding throughout the movie. There were too many scenes where people were just sitting and waiting or walking down the street.Great movie - Wentai
This movie is film noir at its finest. A dark, gritty, depressing, violent, grimy movie set primarily in rain and darkness, this is an exciting foray into my favourite genre: SF film noir. Dirty, unpleasant and menacing stories set in the future are so wonderful, so exciting that even with a few flaws this film was one of my favourites.
What if the world were half destroyed and the future, with its steam driven machines, resembled WW1 more than anything else? It would make for a great film. Give this one a try.Nicely Done - movienut1
You have to be a bit of a fan of both zombie movies and movies that take complete freedom with what the world would look like 600 years into the future (don't picture Star Trek) to enjoy this movie. Sign me up since I really liked this flick. The production values and special effects are spot on and there are enough A/B list actors, along with their enormous talent, to make for a compelling video experience.
What struck me the most though was how much this movie, in a strange way, reminded me of Aliens 3 - the dark and brooding movie where Ripley lands on a men-only prison planet. In context to the whole zombie genre (which I love) Mutant Chronicles pushes the envelope, as did Aliens 3, into its spiritual side. After decades of watching zombie movies the point of how the zombie is an expression of man's dominance BY technology rather than the other way around really hit home.
Two thumbs up. Way up.
