Battle For Terra
When the peaceful inhabitants of the beautiful planet Terra come under attack from the last surviving members of humanity adrift in an aging spaceship, the stage is set for an all-out war between the two species for control of the planet. But will an unlikely friendship between a rebellious young Terrian (voiced by Evan Rachel Wood) and an injured human pilot (Luke Wilson) somehow convince their leaders that war is not the answer?

I was hoping for more from Battle For Terra (BFT) unfortunately there were too many flaws in its construction for it to really shine.
While it was an interesting take on a common premis, and whilst there were some animation sequences which were really quite brilliant, the movie was ultimately marred by poor animation of the aliens and their intro sequences(which I thought should have been some of the more dazzling - to endear the characters to you and draw you into the movie)and a storyline that whilst interesting did not hold together too well, suffered from disjointed dialogue sequences, and ultimately failed to capture you imagination and draw you into the story until waaay too late (I completely expect that some people would have turned it off before it got really interesting).
One of the other reviewers summed it up brilliantly in saying it is too adult for a kids audience and too kids for and adult audience - which unfortunately leaves it floundering somewhere in the middle for a 14 year old nerd to latch onto - the one and only member of the BFT fan club.
Enter into BFT expecting very little and you should enjoy the experience... a pity really as it had the potential to be sometihng much more.Nothing Original - kav2001c
We have seen it done all before (although there is an obvious twist this time) but film is ok. A bit long for younger viewers though.
A peaceful civilization of aliens is being invaded by humans, and the aliens appear to have no way to fight back. Or do they? A space marine crash lands on the alien planet and discovers they are not so different after all. And throw in a cute robot to cash in on the Disney craze.
Nothing original really, evil military guys commanding people to attack innocent aliens.A gentle kind of disaster - Kobzar
Another invasion from space, but this time we humans aren't the victims. Life is idyllic on the planet Terra until some fairly desperate aliens fleeing a global catastrophe show up in the sky. This is not a good thing. The Terrans would like to welcome the strangers with open arms and give comfort and succor. But the aliens are on the verge of xtinction and not in a mood for hugs. And they have guns. So how is all this going to end? Actually, my cynical tone not withstanding, I found this a fairly pleasant and entertaining piece of animated storytelling. Always nice to visit new worlds. Plus, I think there's a useful lesson or two in this uncharacteristic disaster epic. Store your disbelief and enjoy.
