Blind Date
Don and Janna are a married couple struggling to reconnect after the death of their daughter. They answer each other's phony classified ads and begin an elaborate game of pretend on a series of blind dates, hoping that this ruse will allow them finally to talk openly about the demise of their relationship in the wake of tragedy. In playing out their various roles - such as a blind man in search of a sighted woman, a woman in search of a dance partner, and a reporter in search of an aggressive female interviewee - Don and Janna feel free to ask each other probing questions, explore the meaning of humor after calamity, and nearly fall in love. However, when their conversations can't seem to break out of a circular pattern, never transcending the wall between them, they face the reality that perhaps overcoming heartbreak is not in the cards for them.

I love both these actors and they do as good a job as possible with an overly dramatic dark, melancholy morose concept. It's somewhat clever in the concept of a couple dealing with grief but it spirals into a dark hopeless place. This movie is trying too hard.Absolutely Awful - griffy
It's rare for us to pop a rental in and it is so bad that even when we fast forward it, it is too slow and boring. We are careful when we order movies that are unknown to us that we check it out here first. We do not remember ever ordering this. Indie films are not a genre we like so maybe if you are someone who does like them you may like this. It only has 3 characters in the movie and the setting never changes either so it's repetitious. The same small scene begins over and over from a different starting point. We watched about a half an hour and then we could not stand it and stopped it.
