Bronson
In 1974, a misguided 19-year-old named Michael Peterson (Tom Hardy) decided he wanted to make a name for himself and so, with a homemade sawed-off shotgun and a head full of dreams, he attempted to rob a post office. Swiftly apprehended and originally sentenced to seven years in jail, Peterson has subsequently been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. Shot from an intelligent, provocative and stylized approach, Bronson follows the metamorphosis of Mickey Peterson, who nicknamed himself Charles Bronson, into Britain's most dangerous prisoner.

uncertain film - SirDrake
I had wanted to really like this movie, but I found it limited. Tom Hardy is a great actor and played the part of Charlie Bronson brilliantly. However, the story seemed uncertain of what to do with this character or the real bronson just spent too much time in prison that there really wasn't much to write about.
I think they missed the opportunity to build the character much more, especially with Tom Hardy, but instead its mostly the same scene played over and over again.
Sure, he's a psycho and attacks pretty much everyone he can but can we have something more in the film than that?
If you are watching the film for some fighting action or violence then you might be a bit disappointed. You'd see much more in fight club. This Guy Can Act!! - farquh
Tom Hardy is an actor that I am looking forward to seeing in everything that he is going to be doing!
His performance in this film is pretty brave. In fact, I defy you to name me another actor that could have played this role and had the same effect!
It certainly isn't a family story, so keep the kids away.
The film itself is a character study, so keep that in mind. The story IS that character. The movie is ALL ABOUT Who he is, WHAT he does and what MAKES him to the things he does.
Watch this film to see a fine actor who is plenty better than the films he has been in thus far. He's going to be an "A'Lister" once the new Batman movie comes out next summer. After that, he'll be doing Blockbusters all the time. See this and you'll agree that oscar material may one day find him.Bronson - ABC99
Bronson is a strange art film about a nihilistic man bent on destuction of himself as much as those around him. Tom Hardy is force of nature as the mad dog prisoner content to be hostile to all but unwilling to kill. He is committed to chaos and the movie seems that way as well.
The tone shifts from intense and violent to cartoonish. As the most dangerous prisoner in Britain he at times seems like a pussy cat and others like a rabid animal. Whats fascinating is the movie's commitment to nihilism, unwilling to explain Bronson and or his actions. All this is good stuff but still the movie never took hold of me like it should have
