Man is their biggest threat and their only hope.
In a sleepy lagoon off the coast of Japan lies a shocking secret that a few desperate men will stop at nothing to keep hidden from the world. But when an elite team of activists, filmmakers and free-divers embark on a covert mission to penetrate the cove and shine a light on its deadly and dark secret, they discover that the shocking atrocities they find there are just the tip of the iceberg. At last, the truth of The Cove comes out in this amazing true story that is one part action-adventure thriller, one part documentary and a completely heart-pounding call for help from the world's oceans.

Anyone who cares about our planet and the animal kingdom must see this film. It is shocking and at times painful to watch. However me musn't turn away from such atrocities. The filmmakers went to great lengths to get this footage and I believe that this practice should be stopped and the more people who become aware of what is going on the better. Anyone who sees this documentary should tell everyone they know to see it. You will never look at the dolphin "industry" the same way again.Great documentary - Mano
This is no Michael Moore type of funny, sarcastic, quick witted, pull your legs type of documentary. This is a serious movie which shows the real courage of people who feel for Mother Earth and its creatures. Not some romantic greenpeace type either. These folks back their assertion with solid facts. Blow several of the myths about "preservation of Japanese Culture", " "no mercury" in the fish, connecting mercury with autism...so on and so forth. They lay out the evidence right in front of you in a systematic way.
Canadian couple they feature make us all proud. You tend to shed tears with them.
Flipper producer turned into a Dolphin rescuer makes you cry too. What a man with such integrity.
I liked the man from the carribean islands who connects the behaviour of the Japanese to remnants of Empire syndrome. Nice touch.
Yes, this is not for the faint hearted. But you got to see this to realise that we humans are not all that evolved!!Academy award material - Steady
A behind the scenes look at the Japanese government sanctioned killing of dolphins and porpoises in Taiji, Japan. Tremendous courage by film makers and activists to get these pictures and films of the slaughter as it is occurring while at the same time being denied by authorities. A truly remarkable film. If you don’t come out of this taking up the cause and calling for sanctions against everything Japanese, you don’t have a pulse. Great background, supported facts, amazing drama.
Let’s see Hollywood deny this an Oscar.
