Oscar-winner Renée Zellweger shines as a Southern belle turned New York socialite who leaves her philandering husband and heads out on the road with her two teenage sons to find a new man. Based on the true-life childhood experiences of actor George Hamilton, this hilarious, heartwarming film features an all-star cast including Kevin Bacon, Chris Noth, Eric McCormack, and Steven Weber.
When Anne Devereaux (Zellweger) finds her husband Dan (Bacon) in bed with another woman, she packs her bags and begins a cross-country trek with her sons. From Boston to Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Albuquerque and finally Hollywood. her search for a new life continues to turn up short. But the richness of coming to really know her sons makes their harrowing adventure on America's highways among the most worthwhile undertakings of their lives.

A good movie - GreenTomato
I quite enjoyed it. Renee always seems to play the same roles, but it was still enjoyable. I loved the little bits of dry humour thrown in for good measure. The story line was good, not much too it, but it did not need to be. Acting from all parts was good.

We loved this movie. Thought the 90 minutes went by pretty quickly because we were kept interested throughout. Renee Zellweger will certainly be nominated for her performance. Good story and loved that portions of this movie were filmed in our home state of Maryland. We don't live far from "Aunt Hope's house" Actually saw them filming there last year. Neat!Not bad.... - Cricri7
The one good thing about My one and only are the 2 actors playing the brothers...George Hamilton and his half-brother Wlliam Potter. They are both excellent young actors that I am pretty sure will have long careers ahead of them.
This may not be the best movie ever made but it was good entertainment.
