Sherlock Holmes
The hangman did his job, Dr. Watson declared the condemned man dead.... and yet Lord Blackwood has emerged from the tomb to assert his deadly will over 1890 London. Is he in league with the forces of hell itself? Is the whole Empire in peril? It's a mystery macabre - and only Sherlock Holmes can master it.
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law put memorable imprints on Holmes and Watson in this bold new reimagining that makes the legendary sleuth a daring man of action as well as a peerless man of intellect. Baffling clues, astonishing Holmesian deductions, nimble repartee, catch-your-breath scenes of one slam thing after another - director Guy Ritchie helms the excitement reintroducing the great detective to the world. Meet the new Sherlock Holmes!

Not worth watching - Silverthorn
I thought this movie was okay but thought it didn't have any climax or interesting dialogue at all to make it worth watching. I'm not looking forward to the sequels as well. Sherlock Holmes 2 is in the theatres so I think it made enough to go on. I do not recommend going to that film either.huh? - movie_goer
Sherlock Holmes is my 3rd most beloved British Character followed by 1. Doctor Who & 2. James Bond.
So to say I was disapointed is the BIGGEST understatemnet. I've just got to say for the record Guy Richie Shouldn't be directing big budget features or making movies. Period. And to make matters worst chosing Robert Downey Jr. to play a British who isn't British and fail with fumbly bad accent instead. I'm not sure what was worse. Plus, Holmes was known for his keen sense of direction and notoriety not stupidity. Downey disregarded everything their is to love about Holmes. I was left confused and defused.Slick but pretty silly - lotsofmovies
There were some good scenes, and a strong cast, but the over-choreographed (and frequent) combat scenes were over the top, and the whole thing came off more silly than suspenseful. I was expecting quite a bit more from this movie after all the hype. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are good as usual. If 2.5 stars were an option, I'd give it that.
