The Crazies
Insanity is Infectious
Welcome to Ogden Marsh, Iowa, the friendliest place on earth. A picture perfect town where your neighbours are your friends and your friends are your neighbours... Until they want to kill you. A mysterious toxin in the water supply turns everyone exposed to it into mindless killers, and the authorities leave the uninfected to their certain doom in this terrifying reinvention of the George A. Romero horror classic. Sheriff David Dutten (Timothy Olyphant) and his pregnant wife, Judy (Radha Mitchell), find themselves trapped in a once-idyllic town they can no longer recognise. On the run from infected neighbours, loved ones and friends, targeted by the ruthless military and terrified of getting sick, they are forced to band together with other survivors in a desperate struggle for survival.

I was disappointed by this movie - I'd hoped for something scary but didn't get it. If you're a horror fan, this isn't what you are looking for! I actually found House of Wax scarier than this movie. (Yes, the one with Paris Hilton in it!) It has a few jumpy moments but no real frights.More About Relationships Than Zombies - WongFamily
It's been a while since we have seen this.
I think that our family and many of the reviewers were impressed with the movie is because of how it seemed to focus more on relationships. Yes, there is horror, violence, and action, but it seemed to me to be more about their perspectives of each other.
For example, if your relative got a disease, then there is that biological aspect that is worth thinking about, but there is also that relationship aspect, where you both are changed, and you now must interact with each other differently.
Like I said, it has been a while since we have seen this, but I write my review based on a particular scene, which made me sad.Not another zombie movie - TAM65
I'm not sure if it's the fact that this movie was way better than I thought it would be or the fact that I was expecting another zombie movie and don't even know why I clicked on such an overdone genre. But surprisingly it was much more unique... that doesn't say much though ;)
What you get instead is a town inflicted with a disease brought on by a careless government who only think they're prepared to handle this situation. The storey almost completely disregards the government's involvement, doesn't delve much at all in to the disease and centers more on simple survival. It doesn't try to explain anything which is truer to reality and makes for a better storey. In hindsight I'm not certain if this rates a true 4 as I was expecting a 2, but it definitely shouldn't be rated lower than a 3 and I'd certainly recommend it.
