An Edge-of-Your-Seat Thriller

She discovers and becomes enthralled with Eric Komenko (Jon Foster, The Informers), an 18-year-old young man with a violent past. This movie does have an irksome predictability about it, leading to a disappointing finale of pursuit similar to a thousand other movies. This film hasn’t developed the desired ability to massage the ideal amount of complication out of the screenplay, and while passably engaging and even semi-poignant, it just doesn’t contain the urgency to sufficiently rouse the senses.Painfully captivating - Quindog
At the point of writing, moviemonger was the only other reviewer. I quite agree with a lot of his review. Oddly though, I seemed to like the film a whole lot more.
It's not your typical Hollywood type of film. And certainly not a typical Hollywood type ending. These of course, in my book anyway, are all pluses.
There is a depressing overtone to the film; not as heavy as Dancer in the Dark or Biutiful, but it's there. All 3 leads have little going right in their lives... and the situation spiral is not heading in a positive direction.
Character development was well done and the acting was very good, with Traub being borderline terrific. The story could have been a little tighter through the middle. The tension is there but direction didn't help to build it as much as it could have been.
Still, it's a good movie and I would easily recommend it.It's twisted & disturbing, and it's like watching a train-wreck you can't turn away from. - moviemonger
The majority of the film plays somewhat like a road trip movie and while the first act manages to powerfully introduce all the characters it seems to lose its way from then on. This is an absolute pity because the main characters are quite interesting but are let down thanks to certain forced plot contrivances. While the film benefits from a strong start and uniformly excellent performances it falters in the second half with convoluted character and plot development that lessens the emotional impact of the story. Ultimately the film is somewhat of a disappointment given the strong start but Traub’s performance is so captivating she makes the unfortunate twists and turns bearable. As a whole the film is quite disturbing
