Brooklyn's Finest
This is war. This is Brooklyn.
Brooklyn's Finest centers on three conflicted New York City police officers whose lives become intertwined through their involvement in a massive drug operation. Burned out veteran Eddie Dugan (Richard Gere) is just one week away from his retirement. Narcotics officer Sal Procida (Ethan Hawke) has discovered there's no line he won't cross to provide a better life for his family. And long-time undercover agent Tango's (Don Cheadle) loyalties are shifting from his fellow police officers to Caz (Wesley Snipes), a notorious drug dealer. With personal and work pressures bearing down on them, each man will find himself spiraling towards a shattering collision with destiny in this gripping crime thriller from acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua.

Predictable - valdezzz
This movie does have an irksome predictability about it, leading to a disappointing finale of pursuit similar to a thousand other movies. This film hasn’t developed the desired ability to massage the ideal amount of complication out of the screenplay, and while passably engaging and even semi-poignant, it just doesn’t contain the urgency to sufficiently rouse the senses.Certainly not the finest - Bruster
I was pretty excited about this film. I love cop stories and I love Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke. Well I want my money back. I found it was way drawn out. I didn't really care about Hawke and his problems. At least the one bright spot was Cheadle. He is a totally underrated actor. After waiting for what seemed like forever for something to happen, the ending was predictable, don't waste your time.Brooklyn's Finest - oldmovies
The complex and crumbling lives of three connected but distinct Brooklyn cops are featured in this film. Each man’s story never quite intersects the way you anticipate. The individual stories are carbon copies of far better troubled cop movies (Training Day, Donnie Brasco, Bad Lieutenant). I had hoped that the sum of the parts would blow me away with shock and suspense. Hawke, Cheadle and Gere all deliver strong dramatic performances and the supporting cast is solid as well. Fuqua, who also directed Training Day, wasn’t able to capture the same level of intensity and the downer script handcuffed his ability to send the audience on a wild ride. To his credit, I was quite impressed with the three-way juxtaposition in the film’s final scene.
