One of the best animation movies I've watched this year, apart from Despicable Me. The story was funny, cute, and just plain awesome. Who doesn't love dragons? Especially cute dragons! This movie is full of adventure and humor. It has become a family favourite, and I am definitely buying this! I HIGHLY recommend to families.A Good Movie - lmav1
This is a good movie; well animated, nice characters, somewhat predictable plot but still ok. I'm glad that the dragons didn't speak!
My biggest problem and the big spoiler of this movie was that the adults all spoke with Scottish accents and their children spoke with American accents. Funny but I thought the vikings were from Norway, not Scotland!! Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson did commendable work, I just didn't buy them as vikings.Fantastic surprise - Pzip
How to Train Your Dragon was a fantastic surprise. I wasn't interested in watching the movie thinking that it was an animated movie for kids. It was a fun ride from beginning to end. I loved everything about this movie. It made me laugh and it made me cry. There were times when I wanted to stand up and cheer.
The animation designs were the perfect blend of cartoon with a hint of the voice actor. The dragons have attitude and can be cute one minute and ferocious the next. The 3D was a nice touch and didn't have any "this scene is just to show off 3D" moments. The characters develop over time and every character is lovable.
I almost didn't want to watch this movie but my friends couldn't find any other movie that we remotely wanted to see and had not seen already. I'm so glad that I did. I loved it so much I want to see it again. My favorite movie of the year.
