The New Daughter
Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars as John, a newly divorced father who moves into a rural South Carolina home with his adolescent daughter Louisa (Ivana Baquero of Pan's Labyrinth) and young son Sam (Gattlin Griffith of Changeling). But when Louisa begins to behave in a bizarre and increasingly violent manner, John must uncover the truth behind her transformation. Is the former owner's shocking secret to blame? And how far will a father go to protect his daughter from an ancient evil determined to take her over? Samantha Mathis (The Punisher) and Erik Palladino (ER) co-star in this intense thriller that marks the English-language directorial debut of Luis Berdejo, co-writer of the modern suspense classics [REC] and Quarantine.

Pretty Good Suspense!! - 0930tracey
I was a little worried about this one, but I have to say, I enjoyed it! I liked Kevin Costner in his role as a newly divorced dad who moves his kids to South Carolina to work on his writing. His already troubled daughter becomes increasingly disturbed as the movie goes on. I didn't really know anything about ths movie, so the scary route it took was a pleasant surprise. A slightly shocking end was worth the wait. I liked it!The new dauther - sauffialala
The film is no doubt active in its presentation. Early on, Louisa hears pounding in her room, an effect that travels around the sound field as she searches for the source. Out in the forest, snapping twigs, creature growls, and dogs barking love to scare the audience.
Heavy, clean bass has numerous chances to bottom out, from the shotgun blasts late in the film to a creature assault on one of the bit players. There is no shortage of LiFE activity as the supernatural events pick up. Of course, there is a fantastic clarity to it all, and the directionality is superb. This is a head-turner for sure, even if you have to strain to hear some of the dialogue in spots. But i did like the way it endedVery good - lambert41
This movie is for those who appreciate the classic suspense/horror, not torture porn fans. These people are different and if you are a Hitchcock fan, a Del Toro fan or a Stephen King fan you will enjoy this film.
Costner does a good job and the acting overall does not take away from the film. Recommended.
