The performances in this movie given by Taraji P. Henson and Morris Chestnut are raw and powerful. Both portray the "reality" of marriage and all the ups and downs that come with it as life continues to throw you one curve ball after another.
Words spoken at times toward one another are harsh and unloving, but this movie shows that when needs are being met for either couple, it's easy to "stray" and have feelings for another. Also of significant importance is to grow up, cut the apron strings and not allow either of your parents to have a say or influence in your marriage. Because at the end of the day, you have to live it, not them.
A beautiful movie with a powerful message that includes a cameo apperance by Bishop T.D. Jakes and his lovely wife, which are always nice to see. There is a spiritual undertown to this movie that's not "in your face" but shows you that by today's standards that when you get married, if you have faith in God, that is the glue that can keep your marriage together.
The supporting cast also gave good performances.
