Lucky Luke

Jean Dujardin almost saves it. - estefan
Average take on the classic comic book (which, to be honest, I never quite read Lucky Luke close to as much as Tintin and Asterix), featuring yet another likeable performance from Jean Dujardin. He's pretty much the main attraction here as the script is all over the place with a thinly plotted story. I admire the filmmakers for making this look like a comic book environment and they get a couple of funny bits here and there. However, as a whole, it's simply a forgettable comedy western that not even Dujardin can quite save.I'm Lucky to Have Seen This - moviedoug
This movie blew we away. It is definitely a live action cartoon. I didn't read the original comics so I can't attest to how it compares, so this review is from the view of a newcomer to the series. Lucky Luke is the best shot in the west, and he has put many criminals behind bars. But he refuses to kill a man and most of the people he brings to justice just escape again. He teams up with some other Western folk heroes along the way to fight his nemesis Pat Poker. A very funny movie with a clever story and wild gun fights.Unlucky Luke - simarddj
Wow … what can I say … I‘ve been reading comics books since I was a kid … all kinds of comic books … and Lucky Luke was one of them which I still read btw. So I was looking forward to seeing this movie incarnation … well, wow … it was a very, very long 2 hour. I understand that when they move the characters into real life they want to give them a past and make them “Human Beings” … but make him suicidal ? … They went overboard with this. The look is just amazing. This Lucky Luke looks just like the animated character which is great (like Cruella in the 101 Dalmatians) but underneath, you get this depressed, detached and unmotivated Lucky like you’ve never seen before. Depressing. If this is supposed to be a comedy well, I guess I forgot to laugh because there was nothing ... I mean nothing. I was truly looking forward to seeing this … but life can have it’s disappointment.
