This film started out so well, with a convincing depiction of Asperger's syndrome, but in mid-stream, everything changed and it became very silly. The production values of the flood scene in Mississippi were so poor as to really strain the viewer's imagination - if rescuers can wade in with boxes on their heads, why can't the victims wade out? The love story was unconvincing, and the degree of gratuitous heart-rending pathos was ridiculous. This film is not worth anyone's time.Brave film - TickTockMomma
While I liked this movie for its bravery dealing with difficult subject matter (racism, religious strife, and Autism) I had to fast forward through several scenes near then end. It was just too long. Someone should have trimmed the film down by 30 minutes - many unnecessary scenes left in. The portrayal of Asperger's by the main actor was very well done - honest and accurate. I have two family members with High-Functioning Autism, and I was impressed with how it was presented. These are talented actors who were let down by a weak director.Strong Film About Racism - kav2001c
Very well done film about racism. Has a couple cheesy moments but strong performances for a foreign language cast to connect with predominately english speaking audience.
Film deals with Khan, an autistic Muslim man who's son is murdered in an act of hatred after 9-11. His wife tired of racial tension tells Khan to leave an never come back until he has met everyone in America, all the way up to the president, and tell them that he is not a terrorist.
