Temple Grandin
Autism gave her a vision. She gave it a voice.
Starring Golden Globe winner Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet), Julia Ormond (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Catherine O'Hara (Best in Show) and David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck), Temple Grandin paints a picture of a young woman's perseverance and determination while struggling with the isolating challenges of autism at a time when it was still quite unknown. The film chronicles Temple's early diagnosis; her turbulent growth and development during her school years; the enduring support she received from her mother (Ormond), aunt (O'Hara), and her science teacher (Strathairn); and her emergence as a woman with an innate sensitivity and understanding of animal behavior.

This is an amazing story of an amazing woman and her mother. It is both entertaining and inspirational. The acting is superb. I was captivated by the events that unfolded in this woman's struggle through the ordinary and the absurd behaviour of 'normal' people. I am further ahead in my understanding of autism. Hats off to Temple Grandin, her mother, her aunt, and all those who could see beyond her differences to see her talents. An excellent little-known movie - CynCanada
This is by far one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long time! I highly recommend. It starts a bit slow but picks up quickly and ends with a very touching "feel good" scene. I also highly recommend watching the Special Features - Making of the movie. The real Temple Grandin contributes to the explanation.Entertaining and Engaging. - TCMaddict
Just before I watched this movie, someone told me it was so good that they watched it twice in a row, the second time with audio commentary by Temple Grandin herself. Nonetheless, my wife and I sat down to watch it after a hectic day thinking the last thing we wanted to see at that moment was a biopic.
It took less than five minutes for us to be won over. What a gripping story. This film is so effectively directed that one relates to Temple immediately. And Claire Danes disappears into the role and pulls the viewer right in with her.
When the film ended, we started watching it again, with audio commentary.
