Going the Distance
Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) strike sparks for a summer fling in New York City but neither expects it to last once Erin heads home to San Francisco and Garrett remains behind for his Big Apple job. But after six increasingly romantic weeks, neither is sure they want it to end. So despite the opposing coasts, naysaying friends, and family and a few unexpected temptations, the couple just might have found something like love. And helped by a lot of texting, sexting and late-night phone calls. They might actually go the distance.

This movie does have an irksome predictability about it, leading to a disappointing finale of pursuit similar to a thousand other movies. This film hasn’t developed the desired ability to massage the ideal amount of complication out of the screenplay, and while passably engaging and even semi-poignant, it just doesn’t contain the urgency to sufficiently rouse the senses.pleasantly surrpised how realistic this movie was! - YPlovesmovies
As a person who has done long distance relationship for over 3 years and knows the ups and downs of it, I knew I was going to be critical watching this movie. To my surprsie, this was very true to real life long distance relationship, from the awkward sex moments to silly little doubts that are often baseless, to the hardships of not seeing each other enough and realizing you need to come a a decision where one or the other needs to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Very good movie, although Justin Long is a terrible actor and this wasn't Drew's strongest role. She was way better in Whip It, which I highly recommend (and she directed it too!)Good - yellatac
Very touching movie. Time went by quick for a nice feel good movie. There was not much thinking needed for the movie and you knew how it was going to end there were no suprises but on a hard work day were you only want to veg out great show. Drew was great always good acting skills and there were some very funny moments involving sex.
