I'm Still Here
The directorial debut of Oscar-nominated actor Casey Affleck, I'm Still Here is a striking portrayal of a tumultuous year in the life of internationally acclaimed actor Joaquin Phoenix. With remarkable access, I'm Still Here follows the Oscar-nominee as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician. Sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, and always riveting, the film is a portrait of an artist at a crossroads. Defying expectations, it deftly explores notions of courage and creative reinvention, as well as the ramifications of a life spent in the public eye.

Listen to J.P prattle on about how the real him has never gotten a chance to shine through gets old...REAL OLD in 15 minutes or less. I can't deny it, I had to shut this movie off. I was expecting something along the line of spinal tap.. Something so bad, so wild it became hilarious.
Look somewhere else for that experience.I'm Still Annoyed - 0930tracey
Let's start off by saying: I Love Joaquin Phoenix, always have and, probably still will.
When I heard he had "quit acting" to pursue his hip-hop career, I was disappointed, but thought, okay, let's see.
Then he started to act really weird and I knew without doubt that this was a hoax.
Watching this movie I felt really disturbed, almost annoyed with him. For a year, he made all his fans believe he was a loser with no talent.
Ya, I still like him, but I wish he had never made this film.Love Joaquin, Hate Whatever this is - mermer87
To be honest I am not really sure what was going on in this mockumentary, I found it incredibly annoying and obnoxious and really didn't see the point at all. I watched it out of curiosity because of all of the stuff that he was doing in public that seemed rather insane, and because I am a Joaquin Phoenix fan. Maybe I am just not artsy enough to understand what they were doing but I think the promotional stuff they did, such as the David Lettermen interview was more entertaining than the actual film.
