Some Legends are born out of Struggle.
In the small town of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the Chetley name is synonymous with victory. This inspirational tale of a young man's dream to reunite his family through amateur wrestling is as triumphant as it is profoundly touching. WWE Superstar John Cena (The Marine) is Mike Chetley, a former high school and collegiate champion estranged from his family. Things change when his awkward, undersized, younger brother Cal (Devon Graye, Dexter) comes back into his life with a plan to unify Mike and their widowed mother Sharon (Academy Award Nominated Patricia Clarkson, The Green Mile), but not without major setbacks. With the guidance of Red (Danny Glover, Lethal Weapon), Cal learns that winning against all odds is worth more then he could have ever imagined.

THIS IS A PRETTY GOOD STORY AND IT'S WELL ACTED. A GEEKY KID (CAL) LOOKS TO HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING AS A WAY TO FACE BULLIES AND TO REPAIR HIS FAMILY THAT WAS DESTROYED BY WRESTLING. CAL SEEKS OUT HIS ESTRANGED BROTHER MIKE (JOHN CENA) TO HELP HIM CATCH UP IN TRAINING COMPARED TO THE OTHER BOYS ON THE WRESTLING TEAM AND AFTER TRYING TO AVOID WRESTLING MIKE COMES AROUND AND TEACHES HIS BROTHER. WHILE HIDING THE FACT THEY WERE TOGETHER FROM THEIR MOTHER CAL DEALS WITH OTHER TEENAGE PROBLEMS. NOT A MUSHY STORY BUT A GOOD STORY. MOST LIKELY WILL ADD IT TO MY COLLECTION.great movie - bigdozer
It is a change of pace to see John Cena not only as a wrestler but an actor but this movie shows a complete different type of person he really is and if this reflects anything of what he is in real life then this is an excellent movie and would recomend it to others to seeNice Transition - MrsH
As a John Cena fan I had to watch this movie. I have to admit it was a nice transition from the usual tough guy roll. Bad guy takes girl, tough guy saves girl. The end. Not the case in Legendary. Cena plays a guy struck my grief as he feels at fault for an accident that claimed the life of his father, he spends ten years having no contact with his mother and younger brother. The two brother bond over wrestling and in the end wind up one big happy family. Great movie!
