Buried
Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up six feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time. Fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only ninety minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare becomes true.

Paul Conroy wakes up to find himself buried in a coffin armed only with a cell phone and a lighter.the rest of the film is a race against time to find a way out before losing his oxygen and dying.for a movie that take place in one setting, this one was quite compelling.it's also a race against time for someone to find Paul and save him.this one goes right down to the wire.the success or failure rides on the performance of Ryan Reynolds since he is in every scene and his character is the only on screen character.Reynolds does an admirable job carrying the film.obviously claustrophobic feeling adds tension to the film as well.for meBoring - blindboygrunt
This entire movie takes place in a box. And is as boring as you would expect it to be. I think it appeals only to students of film making (e.g. movie critics) who can marvel and appreciate all the finer points of such a daring director and great actor who can "pull something like this off."
Except they don't pull it off. The movie is dull and irritatingly ridiculous, such as the part where the protaganist is using his lighter in order to read his back-lit cell phone screen. The conversatinos he has on the phone are at times ridiculous, such as the FBI officer who starts interrogating him and pointing out inconsistencies in his story 30 seconds into a conversation where he's pleading for help. Right, I'm sure all FBI agents think they're Perry Mason on cross examination when they get a call for help.
If you're the kind of movie watcher who can name your top 5 favorite Belgian directors you might like this film. If you want to be entertained best not waste your time.Claustraphobics beware - icedevilz2
This is one of those movies that you just need to watch and form your own opinion of. If you do not like Ryan Reynolds, don't bother - his is the only face you see in the film. I personally think he did a good job with his role - he seemed almost perpetually on the edge of overacting, but he never really went over. The film is surprisingly fast-paced for a film set entirely in a box. It looks good - the colour variation based on light source is really nicely done. But I can understand this movie is not for everyone. There is very little variation across scenes and if you don't really like the gimick, then really the whole thing is a wash. Everyone should give this a shot, but if you don't really care for the first twenty minutes, you won't care for the rest.
