Amazing animation - so-so stories - Mookie
The animation on these shorts is unreal. Especially when I compared them to the special feature cartoons of Batman the Animated series and the BRave and the Bold. It has a true anime feel to it and for that reason alone comic fans should see these shorts. The reason I can't rate the set any higher is because the stories themselves are very ho hum run of the mill - I could come up with that in my sleep. Shazam-Superman is basically Billy becomes Captain Marvel (fun fact: DC owns the rights to the character but can't use Captain Marvel in the title due to copywrite issues, so the DC comic and animated short use "Shazam" instead). and he teams up with Superman to beat up Black Adam. Nothing new, nothing very interesting about the fight. Same with all of the shorts. All are very interesting to watch because they look so great but just no exciting "wow" moments in the story (Spectre, was by far the weakest). So, I still recommend this for comic fans but don't expect too much.A good rent, but as for buying it... - imagination201
Well, I knew half of the disk material, and half was a pleasant surprise. The main title, Return of Black Adam, is okay. The art is very clean and sharp. The Green Arrow short, though, was awesome and the deal's clincher as far as I'm concerned :) If only to see that one, make sure you at least rent that movie.
Then, in the extra features, there was an episode from Batman the Brave and the Bold and I really liked it; it sold the new show to me. I can see the depth even though the art is more childish compared to what the JLU used us to.
Anyway, a good rent to at least check out the goodies.not so good - mashano
to short.. not worthy.. only the first one (Shazam) and maybe the green arrow one.. the other ones.. naa.. not worthy for a "movie" CD. The should say this in detail for people who doesnt know. Also they are too short for the content of each one.. they should added more material or create another ¨shorts¨.. they have plenty of DC characters to pull from.
