Watching all the trailers, ads, and all the media before it even came out really got me pumped to see it. I enjoyed the last Narnia movie.. But this one really disappointed me. It was super slow moving, and the story was just lacking. It was no where near the book. It was enjoyable, but definitely not a movie I would buy. Stick to the book for this one. 100 times better.Good on it's own merits - CraigDC
One watching The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader must keep in mind that the film is NOT the book. Although most of the salient points of the book and most of the Christian philosophy presented there are maintained, the film differs greatly from it's source material.
Taken on it's own merits, the film is very good. The effects are high quality, and the introductory sequence with the Pevensies and Eustace to Narnia is just superb. The acting, particularity that of Eustace, is excellent. As an avid fan of the book, I was a bit distracted by the deviations from the original story, but the added conflicts and details (the mist of evil and the 7 swords of Aslan) felt like they could easily have come from the pen of Mr. Lewis, so did not create a feeling of disbelief in the possibility of Narnia.
This film was very much enjoyed my myself and my family.Decent Film - kav2001c
One of the weaker books makes it way to the big screen in an ok film. Film was better than expected but did not have much to work off.
Caspian is sailing off to the end of the world (eastern seas) looking for missing lords. Along the way he encounters slave merchants, evil mists, sorcerers, magic creatures, dragons, stars, and sea serpents.
The special effects are top notch the story itself is what was weaker in this part.
